Introduction to IELTS
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a prerequisite for admissions in colleges, universities, and the immigration process worldwide, including non-native English-speaking countries.
Versions of the IELTS Test
There are three versions of the IELTS test:
- Academic
- General Training
The Academic and General Training tests consist of four sections: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. While the Listening and Speaking sections are the same for all candidates, the Reading and Writing sections differ. The Academic Reading and Writing sections are more abstract than the General Training version. The IELTS Life Skills test includes only the Listening and Speaking sections and is shorter in duration.
